Turquoise implemented - 7 great ones in IT!

In 2018 was prepared a report on a study that concerned the organizational culture of various companies in the IT industry. The obtained results are presented in a short e-book worth reading. It is available HERE..

Turquoise purpose and meaning

What fascinated me the most, of course, are the study results showing the essential elements that make up the brand of software houses subject to the study. It is incredible how many of them coincide with the constituent parts of turquoise. The first thing I noticed was the way of indicating the purpose and meaning of the company's existence. Setting a goal for a company is usually associated with showing the financial results to be achieved. However, among the 7 Great, the purpose and sense of the company's existence are to indicate what services they want to provide to customers and what impact the company can have on the surrounding society. You must admit that it is identical to the vision and mission we encounter in turquoise companies. The quality of services and customer satisfaction, as well as relations with society, impact on the environment, etc., make the company's activities make sense. Not money or climbing up in different rankings! This is the essence of turquoise companies, and both the founders and employees (co-workers or whatever name the company uses) identify with the set goal.

A code of conduct common to all

The next element mentioned in the report is "values," understood as a code of conduct. I will not hide that this is one of the elements that has always captivated me. The values we follow at work - everyone, from the founder to the entire team - also affect our life values and vice versa. This is one of the most significant advantages of turquoise because everyone knows what to expect from others, and by sharing common values with someone, we can build trust. The author of the study I use here also indicated that such a culture book is an ideal document for new employees. I believe that a candidate for a job in a given structure should not only know what his job is formally related to but also what values he may encounter there. Therefore, this is an excellent opportunity to encourage trustworthy and passionate people to work together.

Self-management and communication in teams

The last element I want to point out is team building culture. The study showed that Polish IT companies are excellent at developing team self-management. Those who know my businesses know how important it is for me that every team member feels free to act. 7 Great in IT proves that it is not only proper but also effective. Such teams function better, and the companies' communication is at a high level. And we all know how important feedback and communication are when carrying out various projects.

I am delighted that such a report exists and that the functioning of turquoise organizations is analyzed more often in many studies. This is heart-warming because I hope that in the future, everyone will have a chance to find their place so that work is part of life fulfillment and not just a way to get money.
