It's time to get off the social media deck
For a long time I rode the wave of social media – I collected likes like pearls, tracked statistics, published content that was supposed to engage. There was a lot of fun in it, but also a lot of illusion. Because although the online world offers an endless horizon of possibilities, it is often just a mirage. And real life? It doesn't happen on a screen, but here and now, among people who are really there.
I realized that instead of staring at a screen and waiting for the next notification, I would rather look into the eyes of the people close to me. I would rather spend time with those who really know me, instead of sharing every moment with an anonymous audience. Social media was supposed to be a tool, but it became an end in itself. Instead of enjoying the moment, I thought about how to show it to others. I realized that what was supposed to be a support in building relationships and professional development became an additional burden for me.
Back to real life
That's why I decided to get off the virtual ship and get back to what's most important - relationships with loved ones, building real bonds, development that happens not for the algorithm, but for me. I don't stop working - quite the opposite! Now all my energy goes into the offline world. I will continue to do my thing full-on - but for real people, not for digital reach.
I'm not saying that social media is all evil. They give us so many opportunities, help us in business, and let us build communities. But at the same time, it's easy to fall into the trap of their constant presence. And I fell into it. Over time, I increasingly felt that instead of actually experiencing moments, I focused on documenting them.
Now, however, I consciously choose a different path. I close this chapter and open a new one – full of real conversations, meetings and experiences. I want to develop surrounded by real people with whom I can sit at a table, drink coffee and talk.
What's next?
In the next two weeks, my company profiles on social media will disappear, and I will… simply return to life. This does not mean that I will disappear completely – I will continue to operate, develop and do my thing. Only now more consciously, in a real space, not in the virtual world.
Those who know me know that you don't have to look for me online - I'm here, nearby, ready to act. If you want to meet me, talk or cooperate - you'll find me in "real life".
Keep your fingers crossed and – if you want – we'll see each other in real life!
